Camping is one of our favorite things to do outdoors in Northern Michigan and Canada! Our preferred mode of shelter is a tent in the most rustic location we can find. We prefer remote, dispersed camping where we can enjoy the sounds of nature instead of the sounds of stereos and people partying. There’s nothing wrong with camping in state parks, but it’s just not our thing.
During the pandemic, camping became so popular that campground filled up every weekend and summer week. Michigan offers wonderful natural resources such as national parks, state parks, wilderness areas, and state forest campgrounds.
